This system is made up of two diode-lit signs placed either side of the road that is liable to flooding. Each illuminated sign takes the form of a black housing made of aluminium. Each casing has dimensions of about 1315 mm in height x 1065 mm width x 60 mm depth. The front face of the casing is made of smoked black transparent lexan
The front face of the casing is equipped with a representation of a diode-lit symbol of type A14 (en 1000) and a representation of a diode lit message "ROUTE INONDEE" ('road flooded').
The diode lit representation on the A14 panel is equipped with very high luminosity electro-luminescent diodes. The representation of the perimeter of the panel is equipped with red electro-luminescent diodes. Each red diode has a power of between 4 candelas (night time) and 8 candelas (daytime). The representation of the « ! » is to be equipped with yellow electro-luminescent diodes. Each yellow diode has a power of between 3 candelas (night time) and 6 candelas (daytime).
Beneath the representation of the A14 panel is a representation of a diode lit "ROUTE INONDEE" ('road flooded') message. The letters in the messages are about 70 mm high and are equipped with yellow electro-luminescent diodes. Each yellow diode has a power of between 3 candelas (night time) and 6 candelas (daytime).
On the top of this casing is a solar power module whose purposes is to trap only daylight so that the sign is autonomous. This solar power module is placed horizontally above the sign so that is cannot be seen from the highway.
At the rear of the illuminated casing is a housing fixed to the post of the casing, a stationary battery and control electronics together with a communications receiver (433 MHz) linked to the communications transmitter (433 MHz) of the alarm transmitter.
Once the communications transmitter issued the command to illuminate the illuminated sign, the latter immediately begins to flash. Thus the representation of the illuminated symbol A14 starts to flash alternating with the diode-lit message « ROUTE INONDEE » ('road flooded') for as as long as the dry contact is maintained in the communications receiver by an electromechanical switch.
In addition a second communications transmitter in GSM SMS DATA causes the system to automatically call a mobile phone number with a ringtone and recognition of the site by an SMS of type "ALARM SITE X" and a fixed telephone number with a ringtone and regular beeps on the line.
The diode lit casing is also equipped with a red diode light. This light whose diameter is 200 mm is equipped with red red electro-luminescent diodes. Each red diode has a power of between 4 candelas (night time) and 8 candelas (daytime).
This red diode light is equipped with a visor enabling it to be seen more easily in daylight.
This diode light is powered by the solar power module of the illuminated casing.
Consequently, once the communications transmitter issues the command to illuminate the illuminated sign, the latter immediately begins to flash. Thus the representation of the illuminated symbol A14 starts to flash, alternating with the diode-lit message « ROUTE INONDEE » ('road flooded') and the diode light for as as long as the dry contact is maintained in the communications receiver.
