Our research laboratory has developed a system which not only does away with mirrors but which can check areas with difficult access both day and night in total darkness. Drains, roof spaces, hatches, ventilation grilles, vehicle chassis etc, and enable the user to look in water filled pipes or in ponds.
The radio camera boom enables inspections to be carried out in locations inaccessible to the naked aye both day and night. It uses a black and white radio video camera telescopic boom which transmits images to a portable case equipped with a video screen and a digital recorder. The transmission distance between the boom and the portable receiver case is 50 m. The boom weights around 850 g, an the video case equipped with receiver is about 12 kg.
This telescopic camera boom folds to a length of 80 cm and is 1.50 m when extended. It allows images to be displayed in real time and recorded on the digital recorder in the case.
